Advising and HASS-D Lottery

Advising:

-RBA Advising is available in a few dorms, and you get the option of having an advising seminar or traditional advising

-You also have learning community options

-Dorms who have RBA offer you traditional advising with the learning community seminars, (whereas others don’t... I think?)

-Picking a learning community seminar and traditional advising gives you the best of both worlds

-With advising seminars or learning communities, you have a group of 4-5 students who are your support group, and they become close friends who you build a lot of other friendships off of

-With traditional advising, you have the chance to plan out your schedule, timetable, courses, etc. One-on-one with your advisor

HASS-D Lottery:

-If you’re taking the July FEE, why not enter the lottery anyway

-If you get the required grade, you’re all set

-If not, you have two options:

Drop the HASS-D subject (although you aren’t guaranteed you’ll get the subject you want again)

Take the subject anyway: it’ll cover one of the 8 HASS requirements without covering the Communication requirement

Note: You need to take 8 HASS, of which two are CI-H, and two are CI-M(but CI-H are first two years, CI-M are third and fourth year, so don’t worry about them now; ask your advisor later)
